A Dejected Awakening

My dreams keep feeding me all these lies

Of being wanted and needed in someone’s life

Desired and kept around for more than a season

Loved and cherished and not for one reason

Usually because of the moves I make to please

Hope that if I give her the world and maybe she will accept me

Accept all the complicated thoughts and see

That it truly is me she wants down on one knee

Yet emotionless is what they desire me to be

Or rather none for myself if I am to deliver clarity

For in these instances they will accept all the love

Yet the pain they caused is the wrong way I rub

Belief and accountability for how their actions influence

I can always show love, in that language I am fluent

I desire reciprocity, intent, accountability, strength

I provide all of the above and more, so you win

Needless to say it always ends up back to now

alone and trying to find a way out

Of these waking dreams of hearing words

Words never meant for me to have heard

The cadence of the lyrics of “I love you…I need you”

Being the dialogue and lies of my life, harsh truth
